We designed a trauma-informed container to document statewide impact of the groundbreaking Justice Reinvestment Equity Program, turning five days in the field into a multi-channel campaign to engage the public and their legislators.
The Assignment
The $10 million Justice Reinvestment Equity Program completely reimagined what a network of community care could look like in Oregon, empowering organizations with expertise to do their best work, together in collaboration with the Northwest Health Foundation.
There are so many talented (often multi-generational) professionals doing equity work in our community — each with a story to tell and growth on the horizon.
The Trauma-Informed Container
Human Centric Media was engaged to bring narrative structure to JREP’s impact statewide. Doing so required careful research about the communities these organizations impact, and the evolution of their services as a result of the JREP’s operational and capital support.
With Tayas Yawks in Klamath Falls, LifeArt in Medford and WomenFirst here in Portland — along with elected officials like Judge Kersey — we built a reverent, trauma-informed container for them to share authentically about their work and what motivates them.
The Strategic Deployment
Our carefully designed, journalistic production process turned five days in the field into a suite of narrative assets that could be deployed throughout the fall of 2024, raising awareness for JREP’s impact on these partner organizations during a pivotal legislative moment in Oregon.
The power of designing a campaign with a trauma-informed lens is that it lifts all boats: the foundation proves their impact, leaders feel seen in the true gravity of their work, and Human Centric Media gets to put a beacon on the horizon for the type of progressive change our community desperately needs.
How is your organization demonstrating its impact? Let’s make it last.
